As a Missouri licensed physician, Dr. Long is qualified and has earned certification to perform FAA Basic Med Flight Physicals for non-commercial private pilots who seek to operate certain small aircraft in accordance with Title14 of Code of the Federal Regulations (14 CFR), § 61.113(i). This rule (BasicMed) allows pilots to use the FAA BasicMed checklist, and other requirements, in lieu of holding a third-class FAA Airman Medical Certificate. Under BasicMed, an individual may only act as pilot-in-command (PIC) of an aircraft that will be only flown withing the US, is authorized to carry not more than 6 occupants, and that has a maximum certificated takeoff weight of not more than 6,000 pounds.
The pilot must complete SECTION 2 of this checklist and provide the checklist in its entirety (includingthe completed SECTION 2) to Dr. Long who will be performing the medical examination. You may access the BasicMed checklist form by clicking on this link:
The FAA BasicMed Flight physical is a “cash” service. Weekday physical-$105.00 & weekend physical-$125.00.
Hours by appointment, but walk-ins are welcomed. Weekend physicals are offered only if a weekday physical is not possible for a pilot.
