Lisa R. Long, D.C. is a 1989 graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic, Chesterfield, Missouri. Dr. Long has been practicing as a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic since 1989. She maintains her Missouri State Licensure by obtaining twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education annually per Missouri State Board of Examiner’s approved seminars, and also obtains additional continuing education hours relating to topics that she feels would assist her in keeping abreast of the most recent research, clinical applications, and technology in order to enhance and improve patient care and education within her practice.

Dr. Long completed the accredited training for the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME), accredited by Providers of Approved Continuing Education (PACE) and passed the Federal program’s Medical Examiner’s testing in order to be listed as a “Certified” DOT Medical Examiner on the National Registry, an online directory of certified medical examiners easily accessible to drivers, motor carriers, and the general public.

She is an active member of the Missouri State Chiropractic Association. Dr. Long continues to be a strong advocate for the chiropractic profession regarding non-discrimination, protection of patient rights, and access to chiropractic care and benefits.

Dr. Long is highly qualified and trained in her field with 35+ years of clinical experience in family practice involving patient care and management. She addresses the concepts of prevention, health and wellness, and the approach of treating the “whole” person which involves identifying & treating the underlying cause of pain & dysfunction, not just symptoms, in order to effectively address the imbalances in the spine which ultimately affect the central nervous system (master coordinator & controller) and the ability of the patient to adapt and relate to their environment. Administering this type of care & management, patients report higher function in all areas of their lives, and with longer lasting treatment results.

In addition to family care, Dr. Long also serves those involved in sports injuries, work injuries, and personal injury cases involving auto accidents, falls, etc. In addition, she is certified by Sole Supports, Inc in biomechanical analysis & assessment of pedal imbalances, examination, diagnosis, and custom orthotic casting. She has been very successful, in not only offering long term correction of pedal imbalances, but also in preventing further discomfort associated with conditions that are related to abnormal biomechanics of the feet such as: heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, etc. and based on the specific case, chooses to utilize Class IV Low Level Laser Therapy to speed up the healing process of the involved areas of complaint. Other sub-services include DOT physicals, and non-DOT physicals such sports/camp/employee/daycare/foster care physicals, medical certifications, etc.

CONTINUED INVESTMENT

Dr. Long believes that the investment of time and resources toward technological advancements serve to continually improve the over-all function, maintenance, and efficiency of her practice and patient care. Below are some examples of the advanced technologies she has invested in since 2009:

Electronic Health Record (EHR) – Since 2010, Dr. Long has transitioned and incorporated Electronic Health Record (EHR) capability into her practice. She invested in a complete, certified EHR chiropractic software called “ChiroTouch Cloud” by Future Health, Inc which is advanced and intuitive. She also invested in the latest in computer hardware, in order to meet all requirements, set forth by the Health Care Reform Law, as The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 has made a significant investment to encourage the adoption of electronic health record (EHR) by healthcare providers. Signifying a larger trend related to an increasing demand for patient-centered care, EHR is to focus on clinical information and coordination of care.

Class IV Low Level Laser Therapy – An advanced, safe, effective, “deep tissue” laser therapy scientifically proven to reduce pain and inflammation which has become a part of Long Chiropractic’s continued investment in advanced technologies and progressive procedures in the chiropractic field
